Ring Out The Old, Bring In The New


The background was achieved by lightly sponging a manilla tag with Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap, then using a Tim Holtz Clock mask, and sponging again with Frayed Burlap. Next a French Text was stamped using Walnut Stain, and a few Tim Holtz Clocks also in Walnut Stain. The collage image was then applied, and computer generated text sponged in coordinating colours. Fibres were added to finish.

Shaped Tag


Created for a challenge. I used a sizzix die to create the tag shape. The larger shape was cut from canvas paper, then rubbed with Distress pads in Walnut Stain & Dusty Concord. This was then spritzed, then sprayed with a little Antique Gold spray. Finished by sponging on a little Mustard Seed ink.


The centre piece was sponged with Dusty Concord, Mustared Seed and Fired Brick, before stamping with a text in StazOn Royal Purple. Walnut Stain was sponged around the edges, and then it was also sprayed with Antique gold.


The flourishes are sizzlets die cuts. Cut from cream card, then sponged with the same colours as above. The flourishes were attached, followed by a Paper Whimsy image. Flowers were punched from a sheet of faux rust paper I had made and brads placed through the centre, and finally a text ribbon was coloured and an eyelet placed through the top of the tag before adding various fibres.

Winter


Created for a both the Crazy Amigo & the Created By Hand Challenges. The background was created using Antique Linen & Opailite Frost. This was then stamped with snowflakes in Aspen Chalk ink, then the branches, bird, dots and more snowflakes in StazOn Stone Grey. Embellished with computer generated letters and grungeboard. The grungeboard was painted with cream acrylic and crackel accents which were highlighted with Walnut Stain & Dusty Concord ink. Dusty Concord was also used around the edges of the card.

Christmas Angel


Created for the TMTA Challenge. The background was created firstly by sponging with Distress ink in Antique Linen, then adding some Blue Opalite to make it shimmer. Next it was stamped randomly with snow dots and snowflakes in Aspen chalk ink. A paper whimsy image was cut out and given some angel wings (internet image). Torn paper was sponged with Antique Linen, then stamped with a tiny Christmas music script in StazOn Stone Grey. Music and angel were added to the background, and the piece was finished by stamping some Christmas post marks in Stone Grey, and sponging the edges in Dusty Concord.

Captured Frost Fairy











Created for the Mixed Media Monday Challenge where the theme is Frost. I used a glass jar, glued Mother Of Pearl fantasty film on for a background, and added fantasy fibres in the same colour to the base of the jar. The fairy was created using internet images, and glitter applied to her wings and dress. She was then placed inside the jar, with a few metal stars. Glitter was applied to the outside of the jar to resemble frost. Various fabrics and fibres were added to embellish the lid, and a tag stamped to finish.

Clay Shrine 2


Another clay shrine, this time using a Paper Whimsy image, and Perfect Pearls in Antique Gold & Patina Blue.

Created using black polyer clay which was stamped into to create the textures, then dusted with Perfect Pearls in Interference Red & Pearl. Collage image added and embellished with a coat of Glossy Accents.

Jar Fairy 2




Another jar fairy. The same process was used as for the previous fairy, and this time I added some pearl glass beads hanging around her.

Jar fairy using a Paper Whimsy image. The background of the jar is Fanasy Film in WaterMelon, and the base is filled with Fanasy Fibes and a few tea roses. The text is a Rub On Transfer. The lid is yet to be decorated.

Flourish


Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge where the theme is Flourishes. The background was created with Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans & Dusty Concord. This was then stamped with a Flourish in Brilliance Moonlight White. Torn book page was sponged with gesso, then Peeled paint and Faded Jeans ink. Numbers & more Flourishes were stamped in StazOn Azure. Finally the collage image and metal embellishments were attached.

Star Quality


Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge where the theme is Stars. The background was created using Starburst inks in Shamrock Green, French Lilac & Violet-Teal. The inks were applied to plain copier paper, then the paper scruched into a ball to create wrinkles. The mica from the inks gathers in the wrinkles and creates a shimmery effect. This was then ironed flat and stamped with an alphabet background using Versafine Black. Next I added lilac snow mesh to the top and base of the arch, followed by a german scrrap border. The collage image was attatched, and 4 silver star brrads were coloured with alcohol purple alcohol ink, mixed with a little gold Krylon. Finally, dymo text was added.

Music


Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge. The background was created by first sponging white card with Chalk Inks in Pretty Petunia & Thatched Straw. This was then sprayed with Lustre inks in Pink, Lilac and Lemon. Next the card was sttamped with a text background in StazOn Stone Grey. Torn Music paper was attached and the whole background then coated with dilute gesso. More sprays to finish, and a little lilac chalk ink also. The collage image was then applied, computer generated text and a small musical charm.

Embossing

Created for a swap, and also fits the theme on this week's Lots To Do Challenge. The backgrouns of the card was created using a combination of Vintage Photo Distress ink & Moon Shadow Spray. This was dried and embossed with a cuttlebug folder. Next a piece of card was coloured with Vintage Photo ink, Finally an ATC size centre piece was created using the same Distress Ink and a flourish stamped in Broken China for the background, then the bird and text stamped in black. A rub on letter was added to embellish.

House Of Fun

Created for the Sunday Stampers Challenge. The background was created using colour ash sprays in Poppy & Buttercup. This was then stamped with a Script in Archival Maroon, then letters tiles and ink splatters were stamped using Versafine Black. Old book paper was coloured with Butterscotch ink and a scallop design cut from it. The word fun was stamped in black onto butterscotch card and added to the left hand side. Finally the text and letter tiles were highlighted with a White Signo Pen.

Ticket To Ride

Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge where the theme is Tickets. The background was created using the wrinkle free distress technique in Pine Needles & Walnute Stain. This was then sponged over with Tea Dye to add warmth. The ticket background was sdtamped in Walnut Stain, then a layer of dilute gesso brush onto the centre where the image was then placed. A ticket border was stamped in black using the same colour theme, and computer generated text added.

Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge where the theme is Crackle. The background was made by sponging Distress inks onto cream card. The colours were Frayed Burlap & Tattered Rose. This was then stamped with a crackle background in Frayed Burlap, then with various number stamps in black. Collage images were added and the text.

Hope, Trust, Innnocence


ATC created for the TMTA Challenge where the theme is "Brown". The base card was cream, and this was sponged with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, then stamped with a numbers background in Walnut Stain. A collage image was then added, and computer generated text. Grungeboard arrow embellishments were coloured with Walnut Stain, and the whole piece edged with Walnut Stain.

Lord Leighton


Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge where the theme is Lord Leighton. The background was sponged with Adirondack Lettuce and Pesto inks. This was then stamped with a text background in Pesto, and the edges of the arch sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. The Leighton image was then added, and embellished with Prima flowers, computer text, lace and a metal charm.

The Raven


Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge where the theme is Edgar Allen Poe. I used a quote from "The Raven" as the inspiration for this piece. The background was sponged with Adirondack Butterscotch, and Distress Inks in Dusty Concord & Faded Jeans. This was then stamped with a linen effect background. The Raven, branches and small birds were stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black. Finally, grungeboard letters were sponged in Dusty Concord, and computer generated text added (Taken from the Poem entitled The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe).

Altered Cabinet Card




Created for Saturday's Workout. The first image shows the card before altering, and the second shows the finished card. I painted the background with red acrylic, then stamped over this with a script in StazOn Purple. Next I collaged a variety of images around the piece, and finished it by highlighting parts with black and white pen work.

Sing, Dance, Play


Created for the Moo Card Challenge where the theme is musical instruments. The background is Distress inkn in Vintage Photo & Faded Jeans. This was stamped with a small script in Faded Jeans, then a musci background paper was torn and attached. Next the collage image was added. The words were computer generated and edged with faded jeans. A metal music note charm was added to embellish.

Architecture




Created for the sample pieces on TGIF. This week's theme is Architecture.
The first piece was created with Distress inks in the background in Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint. The Architecture was then stamped in black, and a collage image added. Finally the words were stamped and sponged with the same inks.
The second piece uses Distress inks in Faded Jeans & Vintage Photo. These were spritzed with a little water to created the speckled effect, then the main image was stamped in Versafine Black. This was masked and the background stamped with a text in faded jeans. Finally, the word "inspire" was stamped and speckles and ink splodges added.

Do All Things With Love


Created for the Theme Thursday Challenge where the theme is Tags. The background was created by sponging with Distress inks in Dusty Concord & Vintage Photo. This was then stamped with a script in Dusty Concord. The collage image was then applied, and the small text cut out, edged with Dusty Concord and attached. Finaished with matching fibres.

Creaeted for the Wednesday Stamper Challenge. The background was created using the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique in Peeled Paint & Dusty Concord. This was then stamped with a text background in Peeled Paint. Torn music script was sponged with Peeled Paint and added, then a collage image and the words. Finally, some Prima flowers to embellish.

Running Wild


Created for the TMTA Challenge where the theme is Wild Animals. The background was created using the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique in Broken China. This was then sponged over with a little Chalk ink in Thatched Straw, and stamped with a faux linen stamp, again in Broken China. Next the Zebras were stamped in Versafine Black. Various embellishments were added included computer genterated text, grugeboard and metal pieces.

World Outside Your Window


Created for the Mixed Media Monday Challenge where the theme is Feathered Friends. I started by sponging Distress Ink in Antique Linen onto matt cardstock. Next I stamped the main image in black, and sponged around it in Tea dye & Vintage Photo. I then masked the image to stamp a script background in Vintage Photo. Next I sponged Walnut Stain around the edge of the card, and stamped the small birds in black. Finally, I cut out the text, edged t in Vintage Photo and added it to the card.

Garden Sprite


Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge. I used the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique for the background with Faded Jeans ink. This was then sponged over with VersasMagic Chalk ink in Thatched Straw, and Distress Ink in Dusty Concord. A floral stamp was added to the background in Faded Jeans. Torn paper was sponged with the same inks, then applied to the top and bottom of the card. The Collage image was then applied, and some text edged with the same inks to finish.

Numbers


Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge where the theme is numbers. I started by stamping the bakcground in Versafine Black, then sponged StazOn inks over the top of this in Sunflower, Teal & Blazing Red. Areas were highlighted with a White Signo Gel pen, and then the collage images were applied. Finally, some grungeboard numbers were coloured with the same inks, and the edges were sponged with black.

Best Buddy


Created for the Theme Thursday Challenge where the theme is Numbers. The background was created using Adirondack inks in Mushroom and Stonewash. This was then stamped with Mushroom ink. A measuring tape background paper was sponged with mushroom ink and applied to the base of the card, and then collage image was attached. A grungeboard number was sponged with Stonewash & Mushroom ink and addeded to embellish, then some paper words edged with stonewash were also attached to finish.

Mixed Media Canvas


Created for the Wednesday Stamper Challenge. I painted the canvas with acrylic paints - Blue, Cream, Gold and a little Raisin. Next I stamped the background onto tissue paper using StazOn black and applied this to the canvas using Future floor polish (this makes the tissue paper transparent when applied). The canvas was then sprayed randonly with a little Lustre Spray in Blue & Gold. Next the collage image was applied. I then added a little more cream acrylic where the words were to go, and randomly around the collage image. The words were cut out and edegd with Distress Ink in Faded Jeans. Finally, Opals EP were applied around the edges in Bubblegum Blue.

Fairy Princess


Created for the Crazy Amigos Challenge where the theme is 2 x 4". The background was created first by spritzing cardstock with Sticky Fingers Lustre sprays in Pink and Red, then adding some gold. Next, I stamped a background stamp in StazOn Red, and then added some torn background papers which were also edged in red. I added some gesso around the centre where I wanted to place the fairy image, heat dried it, then sprayed on some more gold. Finally, I added the fairy image and the words.

Pink & Green


For the Created By Hand Challenge where the theme is Pink & Green. I coated an old book page with gesso, then added Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters & Tattered Rose. I then added a couple more coats of each. A torn music script was sponged with Tattered Rose and applied randly over the card. Next the collage image was applied, and finally the text was stamped onto paper sponged with Tattered Rose and edged with Shabby Shutters.

India


Created for the TMTA Challenge where the theme is India. The background was sponged with Distress inks in Milled Lavender & Worn Lipstick, then stamped with a script in Milled Lavender. Over this, I sponged some Adirondack ink in Mountain Rose. Next I stamped the word India in black, and a Paisley design also in black. Finally, the collage image was added, and gold Krylon applied around the edges.

Time


A 3.5 x 3.5" page created for part of a book swap. The theme for this page was Time. The background was sent to me to decorate. I added a page of torn paper which I sponged with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. I then stamped it with a Time stamp (Stampers Anonymous) in StazOn Olive. Next I sprayed a little gold onto the piece and sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Ink. I stamped a pocket watch onto cardstock in black. Sponged it with Vintage photo ink, then added a layer of Ranger Crackle Accents. When dry this was cut out, gold wings were attached it it was added to the card. I also added ink and crackle to a grungeboard letter. The same watch watch stamped onto the green coloured paper, the words were added, and some tiny watch parts to embellish.

The Time Is Now


Created for the Mixed Media Monday Challenge where the Theme this week is Altered People. I started by glueing various background papers to matt cardstock, then painting them with a thin layer of gesso. Next I added various colours wash sprays, and a little more gesso. The main image was attached, then gesso painted around it. Some paper doily was addded after painting it with gesso and spraying with colour wash, then the words. The whole thing was sprayed with a couple of coats of gloss lacquer to finish.

Peace


Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge where the theme is Peace. The background was made using Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain. This was then stamped with a script in Walnut Stain. Next the collage image was applied, then the words which were computer generated and sponged with the same inks as the background. Brilliance White ink was sponged around the edges of the arch, then German scrap was coloured with alcohol ink in Cranberry, then sponged with gesso and Walnut Ink. This was added to embellish the top and corners, and finally a metal charm with the word Peace was attached to the centre of the piece.

Postage people


Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge. I started by printing a postage stamp image from the internet and attachin it to a collage image. Next I sponged my postcard with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint & Vintage Photo. This was then stamped with a postcard background in StazOn Olive. Torn paper pieces were added to the base and around the postcard. These were sponged with Walnut Stain ink before applying, then the edges of the card were also sponged with Walnut Stain. Finally, the postage person was attached, and a postmark image stamped randomly in black.
