Dream A Little Dream

Created for the Crazy Amigo and the Created by Hand Challenges. The background is Wrinkle Free Distress Technique using Shabby Shutters and Broken China. Stamped over with Scratches and faux linen in Broken China. Collage image and text added to finish.

Moulin Rouge

Created for the TMTA Challenge. The background was created using a combination of Adirondack inks in Butterscotch & Wild Plum, along with Gesso to lighten it. This was then stamped using Purple Twilight with a script. The main image was then applied, and computer generated text which was coloured in matching inks.

Oriental

Postcard created for the Mixed Media Monday Challenge. Created using Adirondack inks in Butterscotch and Raisin. The image was stamped in black onto the Butterscotch background, then more Butterscotch, and the Raisin ink were sponged around it. An oriental writing stamp was added around the main image in Butterscotch, and an oriental vine stamped across the top and sides. A fan charm was added to embellish.

Diamonds

Created for the Sunday Stampers Challenge. I created the background using Distress inks in Scattered Straw, Dusty Concord and Faded Jeans. I stamped over this with a Harlequin stamp, then a faux linen stamp, and finally ink dots. The collage image was added, then the text stamped onto card of matching colours.

Flowers

Twinchie created for a Challenge. Background paper was sponged with gesso, flowers stamped with Versamark and clear embossed. Colour wash sprays applied in Raisin, Butterscotch and Eggplant, then dabbed off with a tissue. The piece was then ironed to remove the EP, and flowers and dragonfly stamped in black.

Spring Equinox

Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge. The baackground was created using the wrinkle free Distress Technique using Faded Jeans ink. Once this was dry, I sponged on a little Chalk ink in Thatched Straw, then stamped over the whole background with a flower stamp (Hero Arts). Collage images added, and a fabric flower border to embellish.

Queen For A Day

Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge, where this week's theme is Mothers. The background is polished stone technique using AI's in Raisin, Butterscotch and Eggplant. Over this a flourish was stamped and gold embossed. The collage image was applied, then grungeboard crowns coloured with gold Krylon. Finally, a German Scrap border and stamped text on card coloured with AI inks.

Paper Doll

Created for this week's In My House Challenge where the theme is Paper Dolls. The background was created using chalk ink, DTP in Pretty petunia, this was then stamped over with a text stamp (Stampin' Up) in the same colour ink. The paper Doll was made using a range of collage and stamped papers, with a lace skirt, and brads to hold her together. lace and fabric flowers added to embellish.

Bird House

Created for the ABBA Challenge. I stated by making a box using a piece of strong card and a card scorer, using the box lid for the roof of the birdhouse. I sponged the card with a layer of gesso, then sprayed it with aqua colour wash. Next I added bits of text and music sheet paper, then stamped bird images onto tissue paper and applied these to all sides including the roof. over this I sponged a little Vintage Photo Distress ink, and stamped a crackle randomly too.

The nest was made using shredded paper & some fantasy fibres (coloured with gesso and aqua colour wash spray). The eggs were made using white fimo clay, and after backing, adding some speckles of Vintage photo ink to them. The bird is a collage image which was added to the nest. Finally, some braid and a grungeboard letter were added to the top.

Sewn Tag

Created for a Tag Challenge, where the theme is to use 3 items - Brads, Ribbon and Buttons. It also fits the theme on Saturday suprise which is "Sewing Basket". The tag was created by sponging a cream manilla tag with Aspen Mist chalk ink in the centre and Gingerbread Chalk ink around the edges. It was then stamped in Aspen Mist with a French Script and sewn around the edges. The PaperWhimsy image was sewn onto a piece of Calico fabric which had been sponged in matching ink. Ribbon added to top and bottom, tiny buttons aroud the main image, brads at the base & fibres to finish.

Smile

Created for the TGIF Challenge where the theme is Keep Smiling. I sponged Butterscotch onto matt cardstock, then stamped the image before adding more Butterscotch around the image, aswell as some Eggplant. I then used sequin mesh and sponged through the same colours to create the background.

Postal

Created for the Moo Card Challenge. Postcard backing paper, with a collage image, and a tiny collage stamp. Edges inkied in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Orange

Created for the Theme Thursday Challenge. The background was created using the wrinkle free Distress Technique using Colour wash sprays in Butterscotch & Raisin. This was then stamped with a text background in Adirondack Rust. A collage image was then added and the border sponged with Raisin ink. The text was stamped in black, sponged with Butterscotch ink, and edged in Rust.

Tour Eiffel

Created for the Wednesday Stamper where the theme is icons. I chose the Eiffel Tower as an iconic building. The background was created using the wrinkle free Distress Technique. The colours were Dusty Concord and Vintae Photo. A French Script (Stampin' Up) was then stamped over this in Vintage Photo, and the remaining images stamped in Versamark black. The tower image is by Stampers Anonymous, the ticket and postmark stamps by Crafty Individuals).

Girls

Created for the Crazy Amigos Challenge. Background made with various acrylics, colour washes and gesso. Stamped with black text. Collage image, letter brads and grungeboard letter added to finish.

Door Of Friendship

For the "Created By Hand" Challenge. The background was created using the wrinkle free distress technique using Distress inks in Faded Jeans and Frayed Burlap. This was stamped with a friendship text (Stampin' Up), in StazOn Ultra Marine. The collage images are by Paper Whimsy. German scrap and a key were coloured using a Krylon pen in Red Shimmer, and finally the text was stamped, and coloured with matching inks.

Gentle Spring

Created for MMM. The background was created using a music script backing paper. This was coloured with Distress Inks in Dusty Concord and Faded Jeans using the Wrinkle free Distress Technique. A little Versamagic Thatched Straw was sponged over the white areas, then a thin layer of gesso sponged over the whole thing. The collage images were cut out and applied, and the text stamped on coordinating paper. German scrap corner embellishments were painted in matching colours to finish.

Mother & Child

Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge. The background was created using chalk inks in Pixie Dust, Thatched Straw & Sea Breeze. This was then stamped with a text stamp (PaperArtsy) in Sea Breeze. A collage image was applied, then braids, lace and flowers in coordinating colours.

Zebra Crossing

Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge where the theme is Africa. The background uses the wrinkle free Distress technique in Vintage Photo, Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint. A crackle background was stamped over this in Vintage Photo ink. The Zebra image, text and tiny squares were then stamped in black and grungeboard arrows added after being inked in Vintage Photo. Stamps by Paperartsy, Cherry pie & See D's. (Zebra stamp unknown).

Change

Created for the In My House Challenge where the theme is "Stain" and it also fits the Sunday Stampers Challenge where the theme is "girls". The background was made using the wrinkle free Distress Technique with Distress Inks in Broken China and Vintage photo. A stratches stamp was added in Vintage Photo and a French text stamp in Broken China. Ink splotches were then stamped in Walnut Stain. A Paper Whimsy collage image was applied, and text in coordinating colours. The Number at the top is grungeboard coloured with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Spring

Twinchie created for a Challenge. I applied script background paper to the Twinchie, then a torn edge piece to the right side which was coloured with aqua colour wash spray and stamped with tiny flowers and a script in StazOn Timber brown. Stamps by Hero Arts and Cherry Pie. Bird image added and Epoxy Alphabet sticker.

News Print

Created for Art Adventures. I started with printed pages, sprayed with colour wash inks, these were torn and glued onto each other. Next I applied some gesso with a sponge, and when dry added more sprays in Aqua and Buttercup. The image is a transparency. Embellishments were sprayed with the same inks to coordinate, and the whole piece edge with StazOn Teal ink.

Time for T

Created for a Tag Challenge, where the theme is Time For Tea. I had to stretch the theme somewhat, and used the Time aspect as the prodominent feature, whilst staining the tag with Tea Dye ink. The watch faces were stamped and clear embossed, then inks added in Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Walnut stain. The tag was then ironed to remove the clear EP. The main image and more watches were stamped in black, the dymo tape added and fibres to finish.

Serenity

Created for Art Creations Friday. The background is the shining stones technique using Distress inks in Dusty Concord & Pine Needles, with perfect Pearls Gold. The stamped baackground was embossed in white. The text was stamped onto coorinating paper, and a little prima flower attached to embellish.

Moo Card - Jigsaw

Background created using Lumiere, and a crackle finish. Jigsaw piece painted with the same colours, and glossy accents added. Key, lock and heart charms added to embellish, plus a few gold accent beads.

Birdie

Created for the TGIF Challenge. A background paper was stamped with a tiny text in dusty concord, then with bird image, swirls and birdie text. 3D sticker to embellish. Mounted onto brown Bazzill cardstock.

Flowers

Created for Theme Thursday. Created with an image transfer various colour wash sprays, gesso and stamps. Finished with lace and flowers.

Green

Created for Wednesday Stamper where the theme is Green. The background was created using the wrinkle free Distress method and Distress Inks in Frayed Burlap & Peeled Paint. This was then stamped with a text background (Hero Arts) in StazOn Olive Green, and then stamped with a flourish (Stampers Anonymous) in Black. Collage image applied, the twill tape text, and gold corners that were colured with AI in Pesto.

Simplicity

Canvas created a while ago using gesso and acrylics, book page and stamps.

Blue & Green

For the Created By Hand Challenge. The background is glossy card, swiped with gesso, then coloured with Distress inks in Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint. Stamped with StazOn Blue Azure. Collage image added. Ribbon coloured with Faded Jeans, and buttons to embellish.

Sweet Home Alabama

Created for TMTA where the theme is lyrics. The backgroud was made using a tissue (used to wipe up excess ink from previous projects). This was glued to card using gel medium. The house image (PaperArtsy) was stamped using StazOn ink onto tissue paper, then applied over the background using Klear / Future floor polish (This makes the tissue paper appear transparent). The words were stamped in the same way, and the piece double mounted onto black and green cardstock.

The Written Word

Created for Mixed Media Monday. The background is canvas paper coloured with distress inks in Vintage Photo & Peeled Paint, spritzed with water, then heat dried. This was then stamped with a pen nib background in StazOn ink (Timber Brown). The collage image was applied, then the border added which was also coloured with distress ink. I stamped the text onto card coloured with matching ink, then painted 3 German Scrap pen nibs with brown and expresso acrylic paint. I finished the piece by adding the staples randomly around the border.

Words Of Wisdom

Created for the Sunday Postcard Challenge. The background is canvas paper sprayed with Olive & Green Grass Colour Wash Spray, then stamped with a Tapestry design in StazOn Olive. Circles and ink splatter stamped in gesso. Collage image applied and quote added. Finished with metal corner embellishments.

Fantasy

Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge. I used Fantasy Film over cardstock, then added alcohol inks to it in Eggplant, Currant and StoneWash. Then I stamped text over this (Stampin' Up). The Angel image is a transparency, and the frame is coloured with the same AI's as the background. lace, flowers and key to embellish.

Femme

Created for the In My House Challenge. The background was created with Chalk inks in Thatched Straw and Pretty Petunia DTP. This was stamped with a Flourish (Hero Arts) in Malted Mauve, then a torn paper was inked, also in Mauve and applied to the left hand side. A collage image was added, then grungeborad elements inked to match. The lace trim was also inked, then beaded trim around the edges. A few extra beads were attached here and there, and tiny tags attached to the base using jump rings.

Wings

Created for both the Tag Challenge, (Wings theme) and this week's Lot's To Do Challenge (Gesso theme) The tag was created by first spraying it with Adirondack colour washes in Denim, Eggplant and Lettuce. A layer of gesso was then swiped over the centre where the main image was to be stamped. Main image and borders were stamped in Brilliance Black, and the background stamped in Lettuce and Eggplant. All stamps by Paperbag Studios. Fibres added to finish.

Pear

Created for the Moo Card Challenge. The stamp is from Stampers Anonymous. It was stamped in Versafine Black, then coloured using a blender pen and a mixture of Adirondack and Distress inks. Once coloured, I applied Ranger Crackle accents to the whole thing, and when this was dry, I sponged Distress ink in Vintage Photo over to highlight the cracks.

Memories

Created fir Art Creations Friday. The background was a left over piece from a previous project. It started out as a colour wash in butterscotch and orangy colours. I swiped it with Tea Dye Distress Ink, and gesso. It was then stamped in Walnut stain with a post mark stamp (PaperArtsy). a torn paper border was added, stained with Tea Dye, and edged with Walnut Stain Ink. Finally, the image was applied, which was highlighted with a gesso outline, and a metal embellishment added.

Wish

Twinchie, created for the TGIF Challenge. The background was crackle using a 2-step crackle finish with acrylic paints in cream and purple. I sponged some tea dye distress over this, then added a collage image (PaperWhimsy), and stamped the text, which was also sponged with tea dye, and edged with StazOn Violet. The border is German Scrap which was painted white, then sponged with Tea Dye ink to match the rest of the card.

Skinny

Created for the Wednesday Stamper Challenge. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Spiced Marmalade and Faded Jeans, along with gesso to create the background. This was then stamped with a crackle, text and ink spot stamps (Stampin' Up and Cherry Pie) using StazOn Royal Purple. Collage image added (Paper Whimsy) and German Scrap border to finish.

Believe

For the "Created By Hand" Challenge. This piece was created using an old book page, applying gesso and stamping with the main image (Lost Coast Designs). A lace border was added, and tiny white pearl beads glued over the lace all around. Three star brads, a grunge board letter and dymo text added to finish.

Audrey Hepburn

Created for TMTA. The background is the polished wrinkles technique using Adirondack inks in Butterscotch and Eggplant, with gold colourwash spray over the top. Sequin mesh was used to sponge further eggplant onto the background, and a piece of torn background paper added to the base of the card. I found the little quote by Audrey Hepburn on the internet and edged it also in eggplant.

Time

For the Mixed Media Monday Challenge. This canvas was created some time ago, but fits the theme. Created using distress inks, gesso and starburst sprays for the background. Images stamped onto tissue paper and attached. Opals EP to embellish edges, plus gold wings and clock charm to finish.

Altered Can

Created for the Lots to Do Challenge. This project took most of the weekend to complete, but I'm fairly pleased with the outcome. I took a regular tin can, painted it with black acrylic, then applied a rusting solution (2 part kit). I did the same with some die cut tags and hearts, plus a chain and a key. The paper with sponged with a mixture of gesso and Lumiere paint in Halo blue-Gold. A little rusting solution was added to the paper, which was then stamped in black, and fixed around the base of the can. I added a little of the lumiere paint to the can, tags and hearts, smudging it here and there with my finger. These were also lightly sprayed with Glitz Spritz spray (Desert Moon Gecko Green). I attached the chain using brads (holes made using cropodile). Tags, hearts and key attached with jump rings. The tags at the base have grungeboard letters painted with lumiere paint.

Altered Beer Mat

Created for the Lots To Do Challenge. The beer mat was altered by attaching a piece of embossed metallic card, and colouring with AI's in Eggplant, Meadow & Pesto. A transparency image was attached to a slide mount for the focal image. This was swiped with the excess ink from the AI applicator after doing the ackground, and stamped with a script. I added 2 eyelets at the top to hang fibres, and 2 grungeboard hinges.

Pink & Brown

Created for the Gothic Arch Challenge. The background was stamped using VersaMark and clear embossed. It was then sprayed with MoonShadow Ink in Jolly Roger Red, and ironed to remove the EP. An old book page was sponged with dilute gesso, then sprayed with Pink Colourwash. This was then torn and applied randomly over the Moonshadow background. A collage image was then applied, and Prima flowers. Finished with German scrap embellishments which were sponged with gesso, and sprayed with pink colourwash.
